The Adobe PDF Library Advantage

PDF Hub is powered by the Adobe PDF Library — the same core PDF engine that drives Adobe Acrobat and many of Adobe’s products. This is not a third-party approximation; it is Adobe’s own technology, developed and maintained by Datalogics in partnership with Adobe.

Mapsoft has been an OEM licensee of the Adobe PDF Library for over 20 years and receives updates on an almost monthly basis. This means:

Technical Requirements

Server Requirements
  • Windows Server 2019 or later (2022 recommended)
  • .NET 9.0 Runtime (x64) — framework-dependent deployment
  • SQL Server 2019 or later (Express, Standard, or Enterprise)
  • IIS 10+ with the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle
  • Minimum 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended for production)
  • HTTPS certificate (Let’s Encrypt or commercial)
Important Notes
  • PDF Hub uses native Windows x64 libraries from Adobe — Windows Server is required
  • Linux and container deployments are not supported
  • Azure App Service is not compatible (sandbox restrictions block native libraries) — use Azure VMs instead
  • The IIS application pool must be configured for x64 (64-bit) with No Managed Code
  • The database is created and migrated automatically on first startup
