These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Mapsoft PDF Hub at pdf.mapsoft.com, operated by Mapsoft Computer Services Limited ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Service Description

Mapsoft PDF Hub provides online PDF processing tools including conversion, editing, merging, splitting, compression, OCR, and other document operations. The service is available via a web interface and a REST API.

2. Accounts

Some features require a registered account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You may delete your account at any time from your profile page.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
  • Use automated tools to scrape or overload the service beyond normal API usage
  • Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others

4. Your Files and Data

Files you upload are processed on our servers solely to perform the requested operation. We do not read, analyse, or share the content of your files. Uploaded and processed files are automatically deleted within 24 hours for free accounts (or within 7 days for Super User and Developer subscribers). You retain all ownership rights to your files. By uploading a file, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to process it as requested.

5. Subscriptions and Payment

Free accounts have usage limits. Paid subscriptions are available with higher limits and additional features. Payments are processed by FastSpring. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation details are shown on the Pricing page.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.

6. API Usage

API access is available to users with a Developer subscription. API keys must be kept confidential. We reserve the right to rate-limit or suspend API access if usage is excessive or abusive.

7. Availability and Warranties

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that processed files will be free of errors or that the service will meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mapsoft Computer Services Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, business interruption, or loss of profits.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Intellectual Property

The service, its design, logos, and underlying software are the property of Mapsoft Computer Services Limited and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the service without our written permission.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time by using the account deletion feature on your profile page. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on our website. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
