Getting Started with PDF Hub

Everything you need to know to start processing PDFs.

Overview

Mapsoft PDF Hub is a comprehensive online PDF processing platform. You can convert, edit, merge, split, protect, compress, and analyse PDF documents directly in your browser — no software installation required.

PDF Hub offers over 50 tools organized into five main categories:

  • Conversion — Convert between PDF and Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images, HTML, PDF/A, and PDF/X
  • Page Management — Merge, split, extract, remove, rotate, resize, and reorganize pages
  • Editing — Add watermarks, page numbers, metadata, annotations, and embedded files
  • Security & Optimization — Protect, redact, compress, repair, linearize, and OCR documents
  • Analysis — Analyse PDF structure, check versions, summarize content, and generate tables of contents

The main navigation bar at the top of every page gives you quick access to the most commonly used tools. Tools are grouped under dropdown menus:

Your First Operation

Let's walk through a simple example — converting a Word document to PDF:

  1. Click Convert in the navigation bar and select Word to PDF.
  2. Upload your Word file by dragging it onto the drop zone or clicking Browse Files.
  3. Optionally change the output file name.
  4. Click Convert to PDF.
  5. Once processing completes, click Download PDF to save the result.
Tip
Every tool follows the same pattern: upload a file, configure options, process, and download the result.

Uploading Files

Every tool page includes a file upload area that supports three methods:

  • Drag and drop — Drag a file from your desktop directly onto the upload area.
  • Browse Files — Click the Browse button to open your system file picker.
  • Cloud Storage — Use the Dropbox or Google Drive buttons to import files from the cloud (see below).
Info
The maximum file size is 100 MB. Supported file types vary by tool and are enforced automatically.

Cloud Storage

If Dropbox or Google Drive buttons appear on a tool page, you can import files directly from your cloud storage without downloading them to your computer first. See the Cloud Storage guide for setup details.

Creating an Account

Many features work without an account, but registering gives you access to:

  • Document processing history
  • Longer file retention periods
  • Preference settings (cloud storage toggles, file retention)
