Convert URLs to Links

Automatically detect URL text in a PDF and make it clickable.

Overview

The Convert URLs to Links tool scans the text content of a PDF for web addresses (URLs) and email addresses, then converts them into clickable hyperlinks. This is especially useful for PDFs created from scanned documents or older applications that did not create live links.

How to Use

  1. Navigate to Convert URLs to Links from the Conversion menu.
  2. Upload your file using drag-and-drop, Browse Files, or cloud storage (Dropbox / Google Drive).
  3. Click Convert to process.
  4. Download the result when processing completes.

Options

The tool automatically detects URLs (http, https, ftp) and email addresses in the document text. No additional configuration is required.

Tips & Notes

Tip

If your PDF was created from a scan, run OCR PDF first to extract the text layer. Without a text layer, URLs cannot be detected.

Note

URLs that are split across multiple lines may not be detected. Ensure URLs appear as continuous text for reliable conversion.
