Export XFA Data

Export form data from XFA-based PDF forms as XML.

Overview

The Export XFA Data tool extracts the data from PDF forms that use the XML Forms Architecture (XFA). XFA forms store data in an XML structure, and this tool exports that XML for use in other systems, databases, or workflows. XFA forms are commonly found in government and enterprise documents created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.

How to Use

  1. Navigate to Export XFA Data from the Extraction menu.
  2. Upload your file using drag-and-drop, Browse Files, or cloud storage (Dropbox / Google Drive).
  3. Click Export to process.
  4. Download the result when processing completes.

Options

The tool exports the XFA data packet as an XML file. No additional configuration is needed.

Tips & Notes

Tip

If you need to work with the form in non-Adobe viewers, consider using Convert XFA to AcroForm to convert the form to a more compatible format.

Note

This tool only works with XFA forms. If your PDF uses standard AcroForm fields, use Export Form Data instead.
