Extract Embedded Files
Retrieve file attachments embedded within a PDF document.
Overview
The Extract Embedded Files tool extracts all file attachments that are embedded within a PDF document. PDFs can contain attached files such as spreadsheets, images, XML data, or any other file type. This tool retrieves those attachments and makes them available for download as a ZIP archive.
How to Use
- Navigate to Extract Embedded Files from the Extraction menu.
- Upload your file using drag-and-drop, Browse Files, or cloud storage (Dropbox / Google Drive).
- Click Extract to process.
- Download the result when processing completes.
Options
All embedded file attachments are extracted automatically. The output is a ZIP archive containing the original attached files with their original filenames.
Tips & Notes
PDF/A-3 documents often contain embedded files such as original invoice XML data. Use this tool to extract those source files.
This tool extracts file attachments, not images embedded in the page content. To extract images, use Extract Images.
