Preferences

Customise cloud storage, file retention, and other per-user settings.

Overview

The Preferences page lets you tailor PDF Hub to your workflow. These settings are stored against your user account and apply wherever you sign in. Changes take effect immediately after saving.

Cloud Storage

Control which cloud storage providers appear as import options on the PDF tool pages. When a provider is enabled, its button appears alongside the file upload area, allowing you to import files directly from your cloud account.

SettingDescription
Dropbox Toggle to show or hide the Dropbox import button on tool pages. When enabled, you can browse your Dropbox folders and select files to process without downloading them first.
Google Drive Toggle to show or hide the Google Drive import button on tool pages. When enabled, the Google Drive file picker appears allowing you to select documents directly from your Drive.
Info

Cloud storage providers must also be enabled at the system level by an administrator. If a provider is disabled globally, the toggle will not appear on your Preferences page. See the Cloud Storage documentation for more details.

File Handling

The file handling section controls how PDF Hub manages your processed files after a job completes.

File Retention

Choose how long processed output files are retained on the server:

OptionDescription
Delete after download Files are automatically deleted from the server as soon as you download them. This is the most privacy-conscious option.
Keep for 30 minutes Files remain available for 30 minutes after processing completes, then are automatically removed. This gives you time to re-download if needed.
Keep for 24 hours Files remain available for 24 hours after processing, then are automatically removed.
Keep for maximum allowed Files are retained in your Document History for the maximum period allowed by your subscription tier. Free accounts: 24 hours. Super User and Developer accounts: 7 days.
Tip

If you process sensitive documents, consider using Delete after download to ensure files are not stored on the server longer than necessary.

Warning

Regardless of your retention preference, all files are subject to the maximum retention period for your subscription tier: 24 hours for free accounts, or 7 days for Super User and Developer accounts.

Saving Preferences

After adjusting your settings, click Save Preferences at the bottom of the page. A confirmation message confirms your changes have been applied. Your new settings take effect immediately across all PDF tools.
