Sign PDF

Add a visual signature to a PDF document by drawing, typing, or uploading a signature image.

Overview

The Sign PDF tool lets you place a visual signature onto any page of a PDF document. You can create your signature in three ways: draw it with your mouse or touchscreen, type your name in a signature-style font, or upload an existing signature image.

Info
This tool adds a visual signature (an image stamped onto the page). It does not add a cryptographic digital signature or certificate-based signing.

Creating a Signature

Three methods are available, selectable via tabs:

Draw

Use your mouse, stylus, or finger (on touch devices) to draw your signature on the canvas. The drawing area captures your strokes as a transparent PNG image. Click Clear to start over.

Type

Type your name and it will be rendered in a handwriting-style font. The text is automatically converted to an image for placement on the PDF.

Upload

Upload an existing signature image (PNG or JPG). For best results, use a PNG with a transparent background so the signature blends naturally with the document.

How to Use

  1. Navigate to Sign PDF from the Secure & Optimize menu.
  2. Upload your PDF file using drag-and-drop, Browse Files, or cloud storage.
  3. Create your signature using the Draw, Type, or Upload tab.
  4. Choose the page number where the signature should be placed.
  5. Select the position on the page (bottom-left, bottom-centre, or bottom-right).
  6. Adjust the signature size if needed (small, medium, or large).
  7. Click Sign PDF to process.
  8. Download the signed PDF when processing completes.

Tips & Notes

Tip
For the most natural-looking signature, use the Draw method with a stylus on a tablet or touchscreen device.
Tip
If uploading a signature image, use a PNG with a transparent background. Signatures on white backgrounds will cover the document content behind them.
Note
The signature is permanently embedded into the PDF page content. It cannot be removed or repositioned after signing. Keep your original unsigned document if you need to make changes.
