Add Page Numbers
Add page numbers, headers, or footers to PDF documents.
Overview
The Add Page Numbers tool stamps sequential page numbers onto every page of a PDF. You can choose the position, format, font, and starting number. This is essential for preparing documents for printing, legal filings, or any context where page references are needed.
How to Use
- Navigate to Add Page Numbers from the Editing menu.
- Upload your file using drag-and-drop, Browse Files, or cloud storage (Dropbox / Google Drive).
- Configure the numbering style, position, and formatting options.
- Click Add Page Numbers to process.
- Download the result when processing completes.
Options
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Position | Place numbers at the top or bottom of the page, aligned left, centre, or right. |
| Format | Choose a numbering format such as 1, Page 1, Page 1 of N, or Roman numerals. |
| Starting number | Set the first page number (useful when numbering continues from a previous document). |
| Font & size | Select the font family and point size for the page numbers. |
| Margin | Distance from the page edge to the number text. |
| Page range | Apply numbering to all pages or skip specific pages (e.g., skip the cover page). |
Tips & Notes
Tip
To skip numbering on the first page (cover page), set the page range to start from page 2 and set the starting number accordingly.
Note
Page numbers are stamped as permanent content onto the page. They cannot be removed after processing without re-uploading the original file.
